To Start Anew, Video still (detail), 2014
BLOOD MOON: a material exhibition of art focused on transition, change, and matters of the heart.
Here’s a screenshot of my piece from the show that happened a couple nights ago. It was a magical evening and I am so grateful for the experience.
I was just clicking through my site, (thinking about how much new work I have to post, but that is another story), and I realized the first full series of self-portraits I made was ten years ago! Crazy. And cool. ∞
Instance No 5
Tomorrow, LXWXH Gallery presents a pop up shop to coincide with Georgetown Art Attack. Pieces from my polaroid series Instance will be available alongside works from a stunning list of artists. Be sure to check it out! More event details here. ∞
Always forgetting to take installation shots! Here’s one from Cairo’s feed of my Golden Light embroideries. It was a pleasure to see these pieces in new light. ∞
New series of polaroids and video tonight at TMRW PARTY ∞
Getting some new pieces ready to exhibit, I reused some frames from a series I made in 2009. Titled ‘Wanted’, I shot a series of near identical Polaroids, each with hidden text underneath of a want. I made this series in a time of transition, a time of loss and new love. Coming across these texts five years later was an unexpected, intense time capsule, timely to my current experiences. ∞
